Larry hoped to get in one more day of skiing before the end of the season. Unfortunately, his afternoon was cut short when he collapsed from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). Fortunately an effective response delivered CPR and early defibrillation from an AED, with Larry making an amazingly fast recovery for someone clinically dead moments prior. This could be your child, a loved one or you.

No one expects to be involved in an accident, and for those unfortunate enough to be involved in an emergency it's essential they receive not only the emergency care but are transported off the mountain as quickly as possible. Time is of the essence, commonly know in the emergency arena as the "Golden Hour". A strong Chain of Survival with swift evacuation can improve chances of survival and recovery for trauma patients or victims of cardiac arrest.
Mountain safety requires specialized training and equipment. With the cold harsh climate and challenging topography even the smallest of emergencies can become life threatening. First responders at the scene make all the difference.
"In what felt like days, the patrol team put me into a thermal wrap, loaded me into a sled, pulled me down the mountain and transferred me to a bed in the emergency room all in about 30 minutes." Emily H.

No one expects to get hurt on the mountain but when your day takes a turn for the worst, you can count on Casper Mountain Ski Patrol. CMSP is a non profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization made up of volunteers from and contributions are tax deductible. Every contribution, however large or small, will make a difference to help us keep our community safe and enjoy the outdoor mountain life.

This device is imperative for mountain rescue emergencies as it operates in cold conditions and ensures the patient receives continuous compressions during evacuation and transfer as the device and patient can be secured to a backboard
